I bought them for a trip to the Frio River in Texas. I'm a women's size 6.5-7 depending on the shoes, usually 7. I also have wider feet. I bought the W6.5 and they fit perfectly! I have swum sections of the river over 10 feet deep and walked through sections over a foot deep. This area in the photo was 4 feet. The whole area was rocky like in the photo. I've also walked out of the water in these boots. They dried up quickly when I got out of the river. I haven't had any blisters or chafing after full days in them. My siblings bought cheaper water shoes available at Revain for this trip. After a few hours they began to complain because the soles of their water boots were so thin that they could feel every little thing too well. These water shoes were a good combination of flexibility, lightness and durability. They were thicker than my siblings' shoes, but I could still feel the surface of the stones, but not to the point that my feet hurt. My feet felt great all day! I could also swim without any problems. They weren't as thick as my brother's water boots, but he couldn't swim in his either because they were too heavy for him. The part of the sole that rises towards the front of the shoe was used for protection. At one point I wish I had gotten a more durable water shoe, but these were such good quality water shoes at an affordable price. Buy these instead of those water boots for $9-10. In my experience and that of my siblings, the slightly thicker sole is really worth it.
