Review on πŸ’» Dell WD19TB Thunderbolt Docking Station: 180W Adapter, 130W Power Delivery by Scott Pentapati

Revainrating 5 out of 5

an anemic feat of technical failure.

Can we all take a moment to understand that this "docking station", which is supposed to replace a full-fledged PC workstation in the business environment, has inferior functionality? 3 USB ports. 2 of these are so close together that only 2 of my 18 (yes, you read that right, 18) device USB ports go to these two stacked USB ports at the same time. But it gets even better! After connecting two USB devices and then removing one, the USB connector's plastic tip detached along with the USB device connector, leaving my terrible brick with only two working USB ports. /golfclap Once upon a time, a long time ago, I bought a Dell laptop for personal use. Since then I have never bought a Dell laptop again. I'm glad to see that my avoidance of the brand was well thought out, although two decades later I'm still facing a complete and utter detachment from the design and use of Dell. then we have some stubs in the back and some stubs in the front. So this "small profile" takes up more space than my previous full-size Lenovo laptop dock. The brain is incomprehensible to the mind with the technical gymnastics required to translate such an end result into production. Let's call it what it is. This is a power transformer. Point. it's by no means a laptop docking station. Convince me otherwise, I dare you.
