This hose is a real hose. It's heavy duty with brass fittings. These fittings are encased in a very tough plastic for two reasons . The first being you don't need a wrench to connect this hose , it's fittings are encased in heavy plastic. This provides a good grip to loosen and unloosen by hand. The plastic reinforced ends extend giving the hose support as to not kink or bend sharply where the fittings attach themselves to the hose , preventing premature failure , to the connection between the hose itself and the fittings .
