We purchased this extension after the original extension failed to work with our old projector. This works seamlessly with an old DVI to analog projector (using an HDMI to DVI to analog converter cable). The ir blaster function works well. The projector is approximately 100 feet from the computer. The IR blaster is mounted on a bracket next to the projector sensor and the IR receiver is on the wall next to the computer. We simply point the projector's remote control at the receiver and can remotely turn the projector on and off using an extension cable. Very cool!
