Last summer my water pump on my boat failed so I installed a new pump. The new pump created a pulsating flow of water, causing the water to bounce off the sinks and create a mess. He later learned that the correct term for it was "water hammer". After checking my system for leaks, based on recommendations from other boaters, I decided to add a holding tank. I bought a tank, it wasn't difficult to install. I wish I had bought it with my old pump. There is very good water flow now and the pump is not running all the time if you are just flushing the toilet or doing other small water usage tasks. This is especially nice in the middle of the night when the sound of the pump doesn't wake you up.
