I got this for my son, who is only 2 1/2. He is a bit young for it, but he is learning to ride it. As long as I walk next to him he is safe. I think he will be able to ride it without any assistance soon.Overall I don't think this is a good value for the price that it is being sold for. It is too slow. I think the vehicles that Power Wheels sells would be a better choice for most children. It is fairly easy to assemble, but you should use a wrench to put the cotter pins on that hold the wheels on. If you just try to push them on with your fingers like the instructions imply, you will hurt your hands. Also, I don't understand why the instructions say to charge the battery for 24 hours when you first receive it. The charger has a light that tells you when the battery is fully charged. So far I just go by that and it seems to work fine. I have not let my son ride it long enough to see how long the battery will last before it dies, but I'm happy with it so far in that respect.
