I really like this mug so far. The easy-to-clean lid mechanism is well thought out. The push button does an excellent job of first relieving pressure with the rear reset/lock button and then finally opening the mouthpiece so you don't get smacked in the face. In normal use, the insulation works very well. If your drink is too hot and the lid is closed, the only way to change this is to occasionally draw air through the mouthpiece to dissipate the heat. Night. Both were completely filled with boiling water and placed in the fridge overnight. We then took the temperature in the morning with a digital thermometer (which turned out to be superfluous). Your Zojirushi was killed by Contigo! The water inside measures 136*F, too hot to stick your finger in! The water in my contigo felt cool, 74*F. That's a crushing defeat! I don't think this will greatly affect normal day to day functionality as I always finish my drink before it gets too cold. But if you really intend to go beyond isolation, Zojirushi might be a better fit for you. I definitely prefer the button design over the Contigo's flip-top and wider opening.
