Installed in a new cage and they work great. I had to drill a small hole (1/4 inch) where each bulb would go through the wire, but two small screws hold the bulbs in place. Plugin and remote work immediately. The light is dimmed which is great. The only thing that could be improved would be to set a timer on the remote control so the light would turn on and off at the set time. Also, for some odd reason, there's a "strobe" setting on the remote that toggles the backlight on and off. I don't see why anyone would want stroboscopic lighting unless it's for Halloween or horror movies.
