Review on Makita BO6050J Random Orbital Sander by Anthony Shields

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The Story of Two Sanders.

I'm such a damn fool. Years. I sanded by hand. I ended up with a 5" RYOBI battery powered random orbit sander. But unfortunately I was a fool. When I buy this Makita unit I mean UNIT. I unpacked the car with no problem. and made storage easier. The grinder was in there, nestled in their blow-out platform, the cord neatly coiled and tucked away in a little round bracket, it looked like a vision of beauty.I pulled the sander out of the box, outfitted it with the 6" 120-grit sandpaper that came with the Kit was delivered and went to my shop. I connect it. I select my rough sawn piece of mesquite and get to work. Immediately I see the fallacy of my path. Hours of grinding, checking and grinding again. Spent. This machine removed those gross tears, made them disappear like Tennant being evicted from his apartment. He didn't politely ask them to leave, he demanded that they leave us. I see, I I'm only at level 1 of 5 grinding intensities. I raise it to 5 and lock it in forced spin mode. I put a block of wood on the other rough side and the board slid off the bench by itself. I later attached it with a clamp. I am installing the threaded handle that came with the Makita case. And as Arnold mows down the predator-infested jungle, I begin the attack. The wood gave way, the imperfections cringed in fear, but it was too late. They disappeared. Nothing left to represent what they ever were. Simply smooth, silky hard wood. So I understand. I'm a fucking idiot for not buying this sooner.

Pros
  • Handy 2-way switch for "random orbit" and "forced rotation random orbit"
Cons
  • I'll write later
