Review on ๐ŸŒŠ Enhance Your Aquatic Environment with Water & Wood 2-in-1 Underwater Air Driven Oxygen Release: The Ultimate Biochemical Corner Filter for Aquariums, Fish Tanks, and Ponds! by Leah Nelson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

These filters are very good and flexible, but I would like them square and bulky

First of all, I am a breeder/wholesaler of angelfish and discus. There for over 30 years. Over the last 5 years, my municipal water company has gone from strength to strength with its chemistry. Our water has always had a slightly alkaline pH (7.2), but in recent years the pH in my pools has started to drop dramatically due to the decrease in lime hardness. To compensate I used crushed coral/aragonite in medium bags to increase the KH and keep the PH stable. KH/PH buffer to keep my aquariums stable. I have 2 problems with this filter. 1) The plastic that makes up this filter is brittle as others have said. Out of the box I have 1 of 8 that tore too easily in preparation for use. 2) As a filtration specialist, I know full well that biofilters can be overloaded. Any biofilter is most effective when the water has enough "hanging time" to remain in contact with the water/biological organisms to consume and convert fish waste. For the volume of these angle filters and the flow they are capable of, too high an air/water flow will deprive it of its ability to be a biologically effective and more of a particulate/mechanical filter. If there is an overstock I can tell you they work fine with the right air/water flow for 20-30 gallons max. If they were square and had a larger volume then I would say up to 40 gallons max.
