Can't comment on durability (I've only been using it for a few months), but so far it's working well. Give it the right shape to attach things like beams, ledges, trees, etc. I wrapped it around the outside of a 4x4 wooden beam. If desired, it can be bent in the form of a corkscrew. It's fairly stiff, which is a good thing, especially on windy days when set up outside so you can make sure you have a firm grip/shape around whatever you're attaching it to. I've used it with and without the Blink Outdoor Camera Case and there's no sign of sagging over time (that was probably my biggest issue).
