I've used a lot of different oil filter tools in my time and most of them don't work properly. This OEM tool works great. The secret is to get the tool's "feet" to grip the end of the stuck filter tight enough to prevent slipping, but not too tight to avoid crushing or tearing the filter in the process. I took a chance with this tool and it really worked. I removed the filter from a motorcycle that had been on the bike for 6 years. The stuck filter was not accessible from below or from the side. The Ribbon Type tool does not work. None of the end cap tools will work at this voltage.
