It starts in the low sixties and goes into the high eighties. I breed red colored shrimp, so I need a temperature around 81 degrees for optimal breeding. Lots of suckers. Your main heater and probe for the opposite side of the tank. Lots of cord. Don't worry about that. I'm very happy with the ease of setup. Great suction power. I had no problems. Easy to use and works great.
