Fiction! in Hardware

I bought this to use on a Tacoma DR-20 acoustic guitar where I needed to remove a defective polyester coating (long story but anyone who has had a Tacoma knows this) which bulged after 20 years. After removing the finish with heat and a scraper (a real must, but not the best alternative), I sanded the back and sides of the rosewood down to the bare wood. I came across this product in a YT video of a handyman answering a viewer question about alternatives to using epoxy as a pore filler (didn't know anyone had used this, what a problem it must be). Anyway, this product is REALLY easy to use and does the job perfectly. It looked like a cross between Crisco and white petroleum jelly when you opened the jar, but it's water based so there's absolutely no oily or greasy feel. Small things have a big impact. I put something on the back of the guitar with a credit card (see picture) and it was more than enough to make the whole back. It dries so quickly that you'll need to be careful to wipe off any excess, especially if you're creating a large area where it dries behind the area you're working on. I applied 3-4 coats and sanded very lightly between coats with 320 grit sandpaper. The result is a very smooth surface. Until I came across a wood that doesn't tolerate it, I will choose this product to fill the pores from now on. It is very easy to work with and dries very quickly.
