This seems like a very good spotting scope but you need to heed the reviews. This scope is made in China, so the quality is not as expected. Vanguard advertises ED glass along with other features, which is nice and makes you feel like you're getting a quality product. Not so with the one I bought. The coarse focus knob quickly jammed, making it very difficult to turn. Remember this was brand new, straight out of the box. The fine focus knob seemed fine, but I wondered how quickly it would lock as well. Yes, it has features backed by a lifetime warranty, but if the one I bought had problems right away, I wonder how long it will last. My advice is to avoid this entire product line and stick with famous brands like Leupold, Celestron, etc.
