I ordered this material for a 4-jaw lathe to hold the fine threads on a rifle barrel chamber. It worked very well. I tried using some kind of tape but that didn't work because the thread cut it slightly which loosened the grip. I have since used this neoprene to hold other items in various work jigs when I also needed to protect surfaces, carvings or other small details and this neoprene has worked every time. I have used tubing before but it is not as durable as neoprene. I also got a similar 1/8" neoprene and used it the same way. Neoprene seems to be a damn good combination of strength and surface "stickiness". I know from previous work experience that neoprene is a good one too Underlay can be.This order also arrived nice and fast so I am very satisfied.
