Great for a short antenna. Reception is good and I actually use it on my BCD436HP scanner as despite having a 144/440 antenna it seems to work better with 800 trunk systems and other short antennas. And I really like that it's flexible so it flexes instead of attaching the antenna to the scanner and takes all the force as I get in and out of the car and the antenna catches on the seatbelt. And yes, the thread depth is a little shallow so there was a gap between the bottom of the antenna and the radio, but I just put a small neoprene washer in there and it looks great.
