I live in a rural area at the end of the phone company's reach. I'm the last house in the line. The modem is slowing down and keeps losing connection. This happens several times a week, if not every day, and it's even worse in winter. I often have to unplug my modem, wait a few minutes, and then plug it back in. My bedroom adjoins the living room across the hall and down the hall. I estimate I'm about 40 feet from the modem and have two partitions. However, the remote control works like a charm. I just keep it up in the air when I'm in bed. Click Off, wait about a minute and click On. The modem will perform a clean boot and establish a clean connection. I couldn't be happier.
