I covered my 2013 Buick Enclave with a tarp during a snow storm. When I tried to remove the tarpaulin from the car (with heavy snow on it) he ripped off the antenna (oops, my problem). I live in a big city and had clear radio reception at best 70% of the time. I don't listen often and tend to listen to local stations with poor reception. I got this shark fin antenna to replace my broken antenna (which broke in the car roof mount so I couldn't just replace it with a new one). We drilled out the broken piece but couldn't attach a proper antenna to hold it in place. This is where the shark's closed fin came into play. Since it was closed and protecting its connection to the car, all we had to do was attach a line to stay in place, which we could do (tape and zip ties if nothing else works, right?). I've been wearing the shark fin for a few weeks now and it works really well. I won't say great as I'm still a bit static under bridges and such, but really good. I am very satisfied and glad I found it. Absolutely worth your money.
