Squeezing effort was a bit more than I expected. My pit bull pup had a hard time squeezing it so hard it rang. However, after a few weeks, she realized that she needed to exert more force, and now she can do it normally. The only thing I would have liked would have been 2 plug-in noise cancellers. We have a 2 storey house and a pot on the ground floor. Since we want her to hear it when she presses it, we plugged it in at the bottom, but it's very hard to hear at the top! If there were 2 remote controls we could connect them to 2 different points in the house. That complaint aside, I would say this product is amazing. Our pup took root in about a month and now she strikes herself every time! It's way cooler than the typical wind chimes hanging from a doorknob! Everyone who comes thinks it's great. ****** TO UPDATE! ***** You can purchase an optional remote control or transmitter so you can hear it from more than one place in the house when you press a button! Problem solved!
