The fit is slim but roomy for the length. I ordered a smaller size for my very thin daughter hoping it would fit her waist better even if it is too short. It's short (midi length) but still fairly loose around her waist. For reference, she is almost 8.47 inches tall and weighs 50 pounds and regularly wears size 5 regular pants or size 6 skinny pants that fit her waist. Overall it's still a great dress and she loves it.
