My wife and I put together our emergency kit to keep at home in case of a natural disaster. One thing I had to add to the list is a lighter. I was planning on adding a regular butane lighter, but when I saw this I thought it was even better. Since it has no fuel I don't have to worry about it leaking or igniting on its own. I had never used an electric lighter before, so I wasn't sure how easily it would light. The arc created doesn't produce much heat, so you must physically touch it with whatever you're trying to ignite. It's very easy to use. This version comes in a box which makes a great gift. Has a built in flashlight. I thought the light would be extra helpful for seeing what you are trying to light. However, it points in the opposite direction, so it's not that useful in that regard. This is a good flashlight, although it has three functions: bright, not so bright, and a flash. I highly recommend this product for this price. It's possible it could save your life in an emergency, just make sure it's charged!
