Review on Ultimate Comfort: Crane Digital Clean Control Warm & Cool Mist Humidifiers by Dana Franklin

I live in AK, it's cold and dry. I wear contact lenses and always have to take them off as soon as I get home because they have air dried. I did a little research and almost only bought one from Bed, Bath and Beyond, but I'm glad I didn't. Almost everything they offered had mixed reviews. I love buying things that only get good reviews. Looking around at Revain, I found that the entire Crane line of humidifiers seemed to have positive reviews, especially when compared to other brands. I also bought a Lowes Accu-Rite thermometer for $5. I put it on the other side of the room to measure its effectiveness. Of course, the readings on the humidifier itself are much higher than those on the other side of the room, by about 10-15%. I have it on the breakfast bar that separates my kitchen and living room in a 14 foot wide trailer. It's probably around 500 square feet and the hygrometer across the room reads 5-15 percent when the unit is on. One humidifier reads 60% while another reads around 40-45%. It's still a noticeable difference from 35% before I got the moisturizer. I usually have to refill it once a day, seems to last most of the day. I like to take a little break here and there. I use filtered reservoir water as I have crappy hard water and didn't want to deal with the white powdery build up which I think would ruin a previously purchased Vick's vaporizer as a quick cheap attempt at hydration. The controls are simple. to understand and use and to look beautiful, i love the flat face and design style. It's also nice that you can direct the fog in two different directions, perfect for sitting in my bar, one goes into the living room and the other into the kitchen. I also bought two more Crane humidifiers for the bedrooms, a frog for my girls room and a clear blue teardrop shape for my room. Needless to say, they are also well designed and work brilliantly. Just make sure you use clean water and clean them about once a week and I'm sure they will last you a long time.
