Review on ☕ Farberware FCP412: Stainless Steel 12-Cup Percolator - Efficient Brewing at its Finest by Amber Blackwell

Fast, well-brewed coffee pot

I used Farberware coffee pots with electric coffee makers 20 and 30 years ago. I then switched to Cuisinart drippers, all of which degraded due to the use of a rinse cycle along with the brewing process, which increased the brewing time and concentrated the coffee. I just had enough of Cuisinart last week and ordered a Farberware 10-12 cup coffee maker. First, it's made in China, which means the coffee pot is made of much thinner metal than it was 20-30 years ago. The black parts are also clearly plastic and not the heavy black Bakelite used years ago. There is no brand name metal tag on the lower front panel. This was replaced with a thin sticker that curled up when I first used the heating pan. On the plus side, the coffee maker brews coffee quickly; Coffee is even and well brewed. The heating plate retains the heat for quite a long time. The pot does not require paper filters. All you have to do is wet the bottom of the basket before pouring coffee into it. I didn't notice any sediment in my coffee for the first 3 days of using the pot. As for the vague range of ratings, I have no idea the durability of this pot and will probably give it an average durability rating as it's made in China. I am 65 years old and I can say that goods made in China these days are not as durable as those made elsewhere in decades past. 3 days later, it turns out that this Farberware coffee pot still delivers on the company's original promise of a fast, well-brewed coffee pot. At the same time I am satisfied.
