I recently upgraded my home network with a Ubiquiti 10 Gigabit switch that acts as a layer between my local production and development servers . With 10 Gigabit switches still being relatively expensive, it's important to use quality components and cables, so I started my search with a brand I trust and have used for various other cabling needs: Cable Matters. CAT8 cables are strong, simple and straightforward. They look and feel solid, the RJ45 connector is well made, and unlike many cable manufacturers I've used in the past, the wire pairs are clean cut and flush with the connector, making for a solid connection , when plugged into each connector. Standard Rj45 port or SFTP+ modules on RJ45. If you have 10Gb hardware at home then it is highly recommended to use it as it allows you to easily saturate the connection at full speed without dropping it. One thing I'd like to see is a wider range of lengths. I have a growing need for 0.5", 1.0", 1.5", 2.0" and 3" cables. Seeing 6' as an option would be nice too!
