Review on Mifold Grab-And-Go Car Booster Seat, Denim Blue - Compact & Portable For Travel, Carpooling And More - Foldable Child Booster Fits Into Glove Box & Backpack by Scott Bradford

Great for travel! - my new review

My daughter (4) hated this seat the first time I put her in it. She insisted she looked "horrible" and everyone was going to laugh at her. She didn't like that she couldn't see out the window as well as in her car seat. She begged to be back in the car seat (which surprised me because she's always going on about how it's "too tight").HOWEVER, once we got to our destination and she got accustomed to using the mifold, she really started to like it! We flew to visit some friends, and we were already taking one car seat for our 17-month-old, so bringing another wasn't something we wanted to deal with. The mifold was so convenient to pack and use.The Good:- Sets up in seconds. My daughter couldn't get the hang of feeding the belt through the guide herself, but I don't think an older kid would have a problem--and it wasn't difficult for me or my husband to do for her.- So small! Slipped into the front pocket of our luggage for easy access when we got to our destination. Simple to move from car to car.- My daughter never complained about being uncomfortable in it.The Bad:- The side "wings" that slide out slide in very easily--although they seemed to move less the longer we used the seat.- The lap belt seemed to fall in the middle of my daughter's thighs when laid flat. (She's in the 75th percentile for height and the 50th for weight, so she's not small for her age.) We ended up folding the back part up against the seat back to make the belt sit "low on the hips."- My daughter liked to slip out of the shoulder strap. I guess this isn't anything bad about the mifold specifically--I get the feeling she'd be able to pull the same maneuver in any backless booster.Since we've been home and she's moved back to her car seat, she's been asking to use her "bacation seat" again. When I suggested she use a traditional booster instead, she shot the idea down! Despite her initial reservations, she ended up loving the mifold. I don't know that we'll ever use it as her daily booster, but I'm glad we have it around the house for her friends--or for more vacations.
