I bought 5 pairs of shoes to compare Asics vs. Mizuno. I've worn both and needed a new pair of neutral shoes for walking (best for slightly high arches, slight supination and heavy heel landing). I walk about 15km a week on the sidewalk. As a retired nurse with a history of plantar fasciitis, I learned to buy a good pair of shoes and add a certain size insert (Spenco Polysorb sneakers) to my shoes to prevent recurrence. I have ordered the Asics Cumulus 22, Nimbus 21 and Gt 2000 8, as well as the Mizuno Skywave Knit 3 and Wave Rider 23. To get to the point, the Wave Rider 23 was the obvious choice, along with the Asics Cumulus 22 as a second. 20 and 22 in the last 3 years, this was the best shoe ever. Benefits 1. Durable grip that lasts the life of the shoe2. excellent build quality that lasts about 18 months3. Precise fit and consistent sizing 4. Light weight 5. Good looking shoe The Wave Rider 23 has been redesigned to be a sleeker, simpler shoe. I love the updated, less cluttered look. I recommend size 1/2 for running. Otherwise, the dimensions are correct and, as usual, I didn't feel any pressure points when trying on these shoes. Of all the shoes I tried, this one had the most durable use and will probably suffice for those who don't have foot problems. Support is solid but noticeably springy. The build quality is impressive and the upper stays intact long after the outsole wears down. The Mizuno Skywave Knit 3 is the most comfortable shoe I have ever ordered. A very unique shoe in terms of softness and support. Several reviewers noted that the shoe didn't last long and there were issues with build quality. Once these issues are resolved I will definitely be returning to this shoe in the future. I really liked the Asics Cumulus 22. It was the most expensive shoe of all as it is the current model of the year. Nice shoes with a comfortable fit. I haven't experienced any rebound from the Waverider 23 in the short time I've worn the shoe and there were some minor pressure points that will likely fade with wear. If you prefer the Asics fit, this shoe might be for you. The fit of the Asics Nimbus 21 was unsuccessful. Oddly enough, the left boot was narrower than the right. I ordered a second pair in a different color and the left boot was still narrower than the right. Professional reviewers noted that the fit of the 21st generation Nimbus was poor. I have to agree The Asics GT 2000 8 is a stability shoe and as expected is very stiff and durable. I personally don't need that support and the shoes didn't feel comfortable for me. Mizuno makes quality shoes. Would recommend this brand to anyone who hasn't tried their shoes before. I usually wait until the end of summer before buying last year's model and pay an average of $50-$60 less than the current year's model. Same great technology, great price and the advantage of reading numerous reviews from professionals and those who have already bought shoes.
