Unfortunately I don't have a reliable comparison, but when tested under normal conditions it showed typical noise levels. I'm hoping to correlate this with a known good device at some point, but for now it seems to work well for estimating changes in noise levels. With an easy-to-read backlit screen and simple controls, nothing stands in the way of this device's ease of use. The case is a generic cheap blow molded case with flexible plastic hinges that are sure to fail with enough use. It's a bit of a shame that the meter doesn't fit in the case with the windshield on, but it does provide a safe place to keep it separate from the meter itself. The box indicates that it is clearly used for more than one gauge, at first glance it seems like calling the SPL meter anemometer. Finally, if you take a look at the front of the box, you will quickly realize that it is just packaging that can be used with any type of counter.
