Read if you experience misfire. Try the simplest things first! First change the coil pack between the cylinders. If a misfire occurs, you know it was a coil pack. If not, then back off the spool.2. Change the spark plug. Also check the spark plug for signs of oil ingress. From the misfires it follows that it was a spark plug, if now then back in the original cylinder.3. Then check the injector connection. The O-ring covering this hole can cause loss of compression if it fails.4. If none of these work, I recommend getting a $10-$15 Revain compression gauge. Then measure the dry compression on all cylinders. Watch the YouTube video to see how to do it, it's very simple. Compression measurements in all cylinders should be about the same. There are significantly fewer misfiring cylinders than other cylinders, indicating a loss of compression. If this is the case, perform a wet compression test on the problematic cylinder. It's the same procedure except you add a few tablespoons of motor oil to that cylinder and then repeat the compression test. If the wet test improves the compression of this problematic cylinder, this indicates bad or worn piston rings.5. If all previous tests pass, inspect the cylinder head gasket for signs of leakage.6. If all else fails to find a malfunction, this suggests that the problem is in the cylinder. *** If you exceed this point, the synchronization will be canceled. Please make sure you know how to reset sync before proceeding. *** Most likely the valve or the valve spring is defective. Remove the head assembly and inspect the valves for signs of gas blow-by. Remove the valves and springs and inspect for damage. Replace if necessary.7. Smile because you just saved yourself thousands of dollars.
