I wish it had a grounded base but I'm sure it's more flexible

Easy installation instead of a 20 year old lamp that was, say, forcibly removed. I only had to drill a hole for a larger wire because the original obviously connected before the trailer was fully welded and only had a hot wire, no ground. The next time the lights go out in a similar fashion, it's just a few minutes of drilling, crimping, and riveting.
