Easy to fit, good to see

I got this to complete the factory instrument cluster on my bike after replacing the voltage regulator. It works well and is visible even in the bright sunlight of a California day. Installation was quick, the tool took less than 5 minutes. I spent a lot of time making a carbon mount to mount it on, but it was actually pretty quick. It works pretty well, it's easy to read even at a glance. Just knowing the battery is charging is worth a small amount of money for this meter.

Pros
  • Quick change
Cons
  • New competitor available

A simple solution to quickly monitor battery charge.

I bought four of these to use with large separate wet cell batteries wired in series to give 48 volts DC. This battery will also charge from a 48V charger. Before installing, I tested each voltmeter on a bank regulated DC power supply. Three devices show the same voltage, one shows 0.1 V less (example: 12.8, 12.8, 12.8, 12.7). If the voltage drops too far, they go out. For my purposes that accuracy and low voltage drop doesn't matter much as it was an economical way to see each battery…

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • Not sure

Visible day/night. Ease of installation. Accurate but not fast.

I installed the blue and used it for a few days. It is not too bright at night and is easy to read even in direct sunlight. My problem is that the only lightbulb on my dash that glows blue is the high beam indicator. I kept seeing blue on the voltmeter and thought I had my high beams on. That's why I bought the red one. It's lighter than the blue version. At night when I look in the mirror on the back of my sun visor I see that the red volt meter makes my face a little red, the blue doesn't…

Slow update rate (5 seconds)

Easy to use and looks good, but I've tested it myself on several systems and it takes a long time to update. It basically updates the screen every 5 seconds and only updates when there is a constant voltage drop. When my voltage drops from 14v to 9v, this voltmeter stays at 14v. It's basically useless as my car has enough time to burn out before even considering an upgrade.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Good size for my ATV!

Added to a vintage Polaris ATV. So I can see what the battery level is when I start it. Like the readings for blue, but I have to say that red is probably better for sunlight. I hooked it up to read when I turn on the ATV. Simple connections, one hot wire and one ground. I don't think it's waterproof, but it did seal the place it was assembled. And the ATV still doesn't sit out depending on the weather. Photos are displayed with the device turned off and on. The first image is rotated. (I don't

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Available in black only

Possibly just good size and contrast moderately readable and consumes 35mA

Update - I bought a second unit and its readings are low compared to the first unit. I saw a comment from another reviewer that it was low for him and now I understand. So test it with an accurate gauge and maybe the seller can replace it. I was busy when this happened so I missed the return window. Below is my previous review. end of update. Added to an aging car, sure to save almost $1,000 on unnecessary repairs. I chose SMAKN even though it's twice the price, emits less light, and requires…
