After months of not starting my car with the key in the ignition it finally works! Luckily an auto start was installed by the previous owner so I haven't gotten stuck anywhere in that time. We had to buy a steering wheel puller to pull out the ignition. The steering wheel and steering column now feel firmer/stiffer/softer when driving. Best start with the key as it should!
