Description of 3M 02568 Production P180A Resinite

Convenient sheet form available in a variety of sizes, grits, and densities. Aluminum oxide mineral is durable, cuts fast, and performs well on many surfaces. A-weight light paper backing is suitable for hand sanding and finishing applications. Open coat construction provides a more aggressive cut and minimizes dust clogging on the abrasive for increased productivity. Load-resistant coating helps prevent premature loading of the sheet surface to maximize cut and extend the life of the abrasive grains. For industrial/occupational use only. Not for consumer sale or use.

Disappointing Sandpaper for Automotive Use

My analysis of this product showed that it didn't hold up as well as other sandpapers I've used for auto body work. While it did have a decent initial cut it quickly lost its grit and became ineffective. The only positive was that it was easy to tear and fit a custom size .However, the lack of longevity made it not worth the investment..

Pros
  • Durable and long-lasting abrasive that can withstand high pressure and heavy duty sanding
Cons
  • Requires more time to achieve desired finish due to its high grit size

Look elsewhere.

Old, brittle and deformed. After installation in my long grinder - one broke during installation. Happened to break the sheet in less than 5 seconds. After the third time I gave up and came back with an orbital sander.

Pros
  • Open coated design allows for more aggressive cuts and minimizes abrasive clogging for increased productivity.
Cons
  • Expensive
