Type of review

The indoor path from my basement family room, to the bedrooms is obviously dark at night. In order to prevent family members from having to turn on, and potentially leaving lights on all the way through the house I was looking for a night light solution. I bought three different products including the one listed here. I’m posting the same review in each product for simplicity.First, the SnapPower Guidelight - Outlet Coverplate with LED Night Lights, Duplex. This was the product I had the most…

Pros
  • Wall Plates & Accessories
Cons
  • Might not be effective in spaces with a lot of ambient light

Little expensive for my opinion

This is genious and I fell in love with it when I first saw it. Ever since my son was born (he's almost 3 years old) I have been looking for a perfect night light. I originally wanted a nightlight that had a wire instead of being directly on the outlet. My son is more likely to pull those ones out of the outlet.I've been searching and I've never quite found the right one. I've been through battery powered ones, expensive ones and ones that changed colors they just didn't work. (Too bright, too…

Pros
  • ‎9.29 x 4.49 x 2.48 inches
Cons
  • Requires an existing outlet to work

Installation can be tricky

I returned several of the covers for not lighting only to finally discover the reason they failed to light. Yes, the led side needs to be on the same side as the ground side of the outlet. I knew that. What I didn't know is that the wires need to be connected on the same side (grounded side) of the outlet. If not the screws don't protrude far enough to make contact with the cover's contacts, and no light. This is not noted anywhere in the instructions. I rewired the outlet and the light came…

Pros
  • Convenient
Cons
  • Requires an existing electrical system to function

Worth Getting. Needs Improvements.

PRO1. Good substitute for a nightlight.2. Doesn't take up a socket.3. Installs in less than a minute. If you can use a screwdriver at all, just DIY.CON1. The dimmer sensor doesn't work unless you light it up directly with a flashlight. (Tested this on two of them.) Our hall lights didn't make it dim even a smidgen.2. Make sure the electrical box for your socket is set even or slightly behind the drywall. Otherwise the gadget will not be flush with the wall.3. The lights are a VERY harsh light…

Pros
  • Tools & Home Improvement
Cons
  • Limited coverage area

Works as described but some drawbacks ruin a great thing.

Going to jump straight into the pros and cons as that's all that matters.PROS:1. Bright. Lights up the floor around it. Looks very cool.2. Subtle. So much nicer than having a nightlight. Plus it frees up both plugs.3. Simple as Pie. Just remove current cover screw in new one. Done.CONS:1. Price. No reason for it to be so much. It's a unique product so they jacked the price up. Once competition comes along hopefully the price will drop. But right now they are not very affordable in large…

Pros
  • The light almond color is a very trendy style, fitting well with modern and minimalist interior designs and this product is offered in a 4-pack, giving you more options to install then you would typically receive with most nightlights or wall outlets
Cons
  • Not durable enough for high-traffic areas

I like these! best in my review

I have installed four of these innovative night lights in my house so far. I am very happy with how they work and how easy they are to install. One SnapPower Guidelight is in the front hallway on a regular decora wall plug. It was very easy to install. Three more SnapPower Guidelight devices are installed on regular decra wall plugs that are on GFCI "protected" circuits in a bathroom over a sink and in the kitchen over the countertops. GFCI stands for ground-fault circuit interrupter. Now

Pros
  • ‎Wall Plate
Cons
  • May not work in humid or wet conditions
