I also have the Apple smart charging case and this one may give it a run for its money. If you’re looking for slightly lighter case with a better grip and not quite so hard on your wallet, congrats, you just found it.With the Apple case, it’s a bit bulkier, oddly shaped and adds a bit of heft to your phone. This case is light, powerful and easy on and easy off. I’ve carried it in my bag for the last week and I’m quite happy.

I ordered this because my iPhone X will not hold a charge throughout the day. The packaging didn’t come with directions so I assumed once I put the case on and charged my phone I was in business. Wrong. You need two chargers. One for your phone. One for the case. Once it’s charged though it works perfectly.

I feel like the battery life could be a little better and sometimes I really have to wiggle it to make sure it’s charging. It takes forever to charge. Right now I’m having issues with it charging the phone and the external battery at the same time. For some reason it’s just not charging the phone while plugged in but it is charging the battery. I also fully charged it last night and when I went to use the backup today, it was dead.

Edit: I received good communication from the company after my review below and received a full refund. My original review is belowOut of the box the four lights on the back lit up. Did not charge my phone and as you can see it does not have any charging points in the front of the ‘lightning’ port. Keep the original packaging if you want to be able to return it.

Update.Here’s a picture of the first case I received. After trying to purchase another one I received the older style case with the prong for the charging port and it does not work on my phone. I tried 3 times to purchase this case again afterwards and I only receive the older style case. I was shocked when i received this one in the mail. I was amazed that it used NFC to charge, rather than using the lighting port. While i like this one more than the previous model. It is lighter and leaves open the lighting port for other accessories, the battery only fully charged my iPhone once. They really improve the quality of this case from the last one, and I’m very happy with it. So far it’s able to fully recharge my battery, extending it twice the length as usual. As long as it lasts for a while, I’m happy with that. The build quality seems tougher as well, and the edges wrap over the front of the screen more adding additional protection

So I did not realize that this is actually using wireless charging to charge the phone! I just got it and am thrilled about that. That means there should never be a connection problem between the charging adapter and the phone because there is no adapter that’s going into your phone. This might be the first charging case that lasts a long time for me! Super thrilled. Will update review if I need to.

When I first purchased this, it worked well. However, now, I can charge it all day and it does in a matter of a minute. It will not hold a charge or charge my phone anymore and I’ve had it for a little over a year.

Nice power bank except the battery life is what I was expecting compared to my other one. Good to full charge my iPhone if it’s a little below the half battery life. Does take a while to charge. But the case is nice and not very bulky.

I like the feature which I didn't realize the case has when I bought it. The case charges by induction so it keeps the port available on the bottom of the phone to use a corded headphone plug or whatever you want while it is plugged in charging. This case worked great for a couple months. Then I couldn’t charge the case or phone inside. I sent e-mails and they asked for more info. I sent order details then I was ignored. Product support would be a good thing. I wouldn’t buy again

I've gone through tons of case chargers and this one is the best. It takes a standard iphone charger and you can actually use two to charge them faster, charge the phone and charge the case simultaneously. In the past you would just use one cable and it would charge both but really only charge the phone and once the phone was full, finally charge the charger.
