This helps to significantly reduce the stress on the platter motor. Without them I was able to rotate the table with basic power and it rotated about 2-3 times. I must be really missing something because this bearing will NOT work with a Blackstone pizza oven. Will not fit over a collar welded to the center support flange. Placing it over this ring will make the turntable shaft too short to engage the driveshaft key on the motor. Others have mentioned using an Allen key for some adjustments to make up for this lack, but I didn't see any room for adjustment at all.
