Quite expensive for a pair of scissors but worth every penny! They are strong and well made, and the blades, omgosh, will ever cut them! They come with a simple protective case. I read so many great reviews about Kai that I decided to test the waters with this line cutter. What mistake. The safety cap is too heavy for a thread cutter, the safety cap is a loose piece of plastic (you'll waste it all the time - wish it attached directly to the cutter), but the worst thing is the fact that it's not that sharp or accurate . . The two blades don't connect cleanly and don't cut my thread. The free one I got from a sewing kit when I first started sewing is way better than this

I love Kais and have a fantastic pair of their professional line of Serrated Scissors (K7240-AS). They cut everything perfectly, from silk to Kevlar. I've wanted these scissors to replace another brand for a long time. The Kai scissors design is a good size and weight but gives a very rough/twitchy closure. I was delighted with these Kai shears. I love Kai sewing scissors and other craft scissors. You are terrible! The transparent lid is inconvenient but protects the blades, though I'm always afraid of losing it if I drop it. The clamping mechanism works well, but like the previous reviewer, the tips of the blades traverse the center and just "squeeze" the thread without cutting it. I have several Kia brand scissors. They are very sharp, light and cut perfectly. So when I was looking for new taps and came across the name Kia, I simply ordered them. I bought these for a colleague of mine who has severe arthritis in her hands and had to stop because she couldn't wring out the cheap $2 scissors that clog our vinyl products .
