Build quality seems pretty solid for the money. The lens has acceptable sharpness when stopped down, but the edges are smeared and vignetting increases dramatically when you open it up to f/2 and wider. The lens is very soft wide-angle throughout the frame at open aperture. The bokeh characteristics are not the most pleasing. It works slightly better on my M6 than on my A7III. Edge performance is worse digitally.

So I bought this lens for my m10. Why? Because I can't afford Noctilux. I read many reviews about this lens and decided to give it a try. So this lens is heavy, strong, built like a tank and doesn't feel cheap at all. When I tried to shoot a portrait, see the photo, it's soft. I like this lens and many people are satisfied with its performance except wide open. I bought it strictly for general use in black and white with the M8 or M. The bokeh is distinctive (to say the least!) and you need to focus with a neurosurgeon's precision if you have, say, two heads in the frame, say 4 meters apart or so. But what's not to like?
