Fans tend to tick annoyingly

I bought 2 pairs of these fans thinking I was just unlucky with the first pair. Both have at least one fan that tends to make awful sounding ticking noises. My second pair started ticking after about an hour. I can't even slow them down because they get louder like they aren't properly balanced on a bearing or something. I think I'll look elsewhere for a good set of fans for my receiver. Didn't realize it was so hard to find.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Cannot be switched on after a power failure.

2-piece USB fan won't turn on when first turned on or after a power outage. I was hoping to use it in a sealed case that would turn on when the computer was turned on. activated, but must be activated manually each time. It's fairly quiet and seems to move a decent amount of air, but won't turn on after a power outage, making this product useless to me and invalidating many use cases for it. Fan. (Edit) I ended up soldering the leads onto the button as shown, which will automatically start the…

Fairly quiet cool fans

I really like these fans, they have a crazy rubber grommet so they don't vibrate on things, I can still mount them to my network closet with a spacer and they seem to rattle with every rattle to help. I had to replace the first set I got as the wiring was a bit loose so take care of that. I would only recommend if you have a device designed to output constant power. It peaks at around 0.6 amps at the level of what I've seen, so it's not a crazy amount of power, but still a lot of consistent…

Does not resume operation after a power failure. Pretty lame

I've read (or rather misinterpreted) reviews that said these things have resumed after a power outage. Unfortunately it isn't. They turn off completely when power is restored. In my case, I was able to connect them to the battery side of my UPS, but I would imagine that would be an impediment for many people. There's *no* reason to have a "digital" cruise control, especially if it renders the thing ineffective after a big event. As a couple of fans, this is a good unit. The shock absorbers work

Quiet and adjustable

I've been looking for this solution for a long time. We all have audio/video devices, game consoles, DVRs and other similar devices that shouldn't be left indoors because they need to cool their electronic components, right? So why are most media centers equipped with closed shelves and showcases? I digress, however; The thing is, these USB powered fans are a great idea. I installed them in the back of the compartment where we keep the DVR and kids Xbox. Fans connect to the DVR's USB port and…
