The cable did its job perfectly, I was able to load the driver from another disk. The CH340 driver that came with this cable was defective, but I downloaded the CH340 driver from my radio manufacturer and the cable worked.

So far I haven't seen a single Baofeng or Btech that this cable can't handle. CHIRP and Baofeng/Btech software detect it without any problems. This works with UV-82 and derivatives, UV-5R and derivatives (including BF-F8HP), GT-22 FRS radio, BF-888 FRS and derivatives, and that's what I tried.

I bought this to help me program my Baofeng UV-5R radio with the CHIRP program. It worked great! I would definitely buy it again.

Why bother with radio buttons? Import all your settings and channels to your laptop. Create multiple files for different needs in minutes and program them in seconds. Do you want to become fashionable? 15 minutes to set up a program for a field worker who has this cable and is 300 miles away, then connect remotely and program the radio. 20 minutes work for your team in the field when you are 300 miles away. Everything is possible.

Initially spent money on a cable twice the price that stopped working after a week. Went to the Boafeng store on Revain and bought this cable. It is plug and play with macOS 10.12.6 Sierra. Plug it into a USB port, launch Chirp, select a USB port and away you go. It works. No need to download drivers, no fiddling with installers, no brew, just plug it in and it works! The only minor downside is the lack of Tx/Rx LED indicators. But with such reliability they are not needed.
