Description of ABI Tuna Blue LED Bulb: Enhancing Coral Reef Health with Optimized Spectrum PAR38

Designed for corals, the ABI Tuna Blue Reef Bulb combines eleven different types of LED chip to produce a spectrum that more closely mimics the natural reef environment. Grow healthy corals that pop in a beautiful tuna blue environment. The light alone appears as a bright saturated blue-cyan. The broad spectrum accentuates fluorescence, reveals contrast, and improves coloration of corals. 50,000+ hour service life, 3-year manufacturer's warranty, assembled in the USA. 15 bright high efficiency LED chips use a true 23W of power. An integrated ball-bearing fan quietly cools allowing for the higher power. Fits a standard household E26 socket. 100-240V AC input. LEDs: 1x 395-400nm, 1x 410-420nm, 2x 420-430nm, 1x 430-440nm, 2x 440-450nm, 2x 450-460nm, 2x 460-470nm, 1x 470-475nm, 1x 490-495nm, 1x 6500K, 1x cyan (phosphor based).

Very happy customer

I was cautious buying a broad spectrum lamp as there is so much junk out there. I was pleasantly surprised by the color and brightness of the lamp and ordered two more gooseneck mounts and installed them over our 90 gallon bow. As it turned out, three was too many. I placed a third over Chetomorph Swamp for my reef system and immediately got a growth spurt. I placed two more on my 125 gallon FOWLR system and added a dark blue lamp for moonlight. I have another over the sump of this tank. I…

Brings out beautiful colors

This light is perfect for pico lenses. I've been making pico reefs for several years. Could never find the right light. This light is the right color, spectrum, and size. My aquarium only uses about 3 gallons. I have had many problems growing and coloring sps corals in the past. This light completely tinted my test piece, which was completely brown. It is now purple to green, then to blue tips and purple polyps. Also my knees and softies as well as stone flowers have lightened up and are a…

This blue feels good! - Lighting for the aquarium

Got this for my Fluval Sea Evo 13.5. The light spectrum is excellent. The only slight downside is that the light output isn't wide enough, so it misses the frog spawn on the left and the lollipop on the right a bit. Xenia, which is right in the middle and just below the bulb, stopped growing after 2 days. Normally Xenia expands to capture as much light as possible, there is no need to expand this bulb. To solve this problem I ordered another one along with a flexible neck clip. UPDATE - I now…

Amazing results in just 2 weeks!

After using some high quality lights and building them by hand, I was skeptical about buying an LED light without color and intensity adjustment for my 2.5 gallon Pico Reef. The only thing I could do was adjust the light higher or lower. So I started (and still work) with a light source 17 inches above the waterline. So far the results have been amazing. Corals that lost their color (under controlled, more expensive lights) have regained their glow. Corals that have retreated come back to life…

Use in 20 gallons of nano. So far, so good.

I've only been using this a few months ago but while my corals are thriving under this light I have a flashlight, some mushrooms and some palia and they are all overgrown and growing. I have a flashlight directly under the light about four inches from the surface and the light is about 5-6 inches from the water surface so I keep it close. The mushroom didn't like being right underneath so I put it aside and it's fine. A month later, others appeared on it. My games are further away from the…

I was amazed by the bright and sharp blue light

World Everything I have been using ABI bulbs on all my marine and invert systems when they use a 50/50 12w bulb had. This has been good for us for many years. Then I recently upgraded to their new chip 12w 15 bulbs with 5 white and 10 blue. Again I was amazed at the bright and clear blue light and how our corals responded immediately to the extra spectrum and intensity they needed. Lamp ABI 12 W Tuna Blue LED Coral Reef! After carefully doing my homework and learning about the range and…

Know what you will use it for!

I was trying to use this 12 watt Tuna Blue Par38 bulb to light my 6 gallon Pico Cube and the light was so intense it was painful to look at the aquarium. about 9 inches above the rim of the tank. Although the bulb worked great and looked like a quality bulb - hence the 5 stars - I returned it because I couldn't rationalize the use of the light over the saltwater tank so you can't see or rate your own aquarium! I don't know if it was because the bulb was too bright or because it was too blue…
