Not compatible with Linux

This card is not compatible with Fedora 28 x64 Linux. Ports supply power but nothing else: $ uname -r4.17.9-200.fc28.x86_64 With USB 3.1 stick plugged in: Aug 23 19:24:47 localhost kernel: usb 6-1: new SuperSpeed device USB number 5 using xhci_hcdAug 23 19:24:47 kernel localhost:usb 6-1: read device descriptor /8, error -61

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Speed

Good card - but one piece of advice

There were some minor issues with my Gigabyte motherboard - until I set the PCI slot to x4 instead of "auto" in the BIOS. If that doesn't work for you, try this: Via USB-C, my external SSD copied a 450MB file in about three seconds.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Appearance

Very happy - computers and accessories

PROS Well done, meets all expectations and compatibility was not an issue as my Mac Pro 5.1 (3.33) works with most USB3 and especially PCIe Express Maps can be picky. This product uses a 16x line. NEGATIVES While the system information definitely shows up as USB 3.1, the ASM1351 reports a maximum speed of 5 GB/s, which conforms to the 3.0 standard. I'm glad to have a working 3.0 standard that is compatible, but was hoping that higher speeds would be available with a '3.1' rated card. I'm usingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

I have two different boards with USB-C ports with ASMedia ASM2142 chip (PU31-2C-2 USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10Gb/s), 2 Type-C ports) for my Dell XPS8700 Bought , high performance PC with 16GB RAM. The cards were guaranteed to work with Windows 10. One failed immediately, the second didn't work at all. The first card worked for about two minutes. Then I got a crazy error message with a QR code saying Windows had never seen this error. Then my computer uploaded a bunch of data to Microsoft and restartedโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Worth the money
