There are two of these in each 4l60e.4l65e.or 4l70e trans.

I see them all the time in the store. What usually happens is some mechanic over there trying to change the transmission filter. If they do, they will break the solenoids. pallet itself. consequently there is no 1st or 4th gear. So make sure you get the right release! Drop the exhaust if you must!

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Fixed transmission slip problem on GMC Somoma

I'm not sure if changing the fluid or a bottle of Lucas Transslip helped or if changing 2 of those solenoids helped but once you get the oil pan down, that could change too. This immediately solved the slippage problem I was having. It was so bad that if I stopped on a hill, the truck wouldn't move forward at all. That definitely fixed the problem and now the truck flies like a rocket.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Low repairability

1994 4L60e: Transmission and parts

Installed these A and B solenoids to fix the inter-loss of 1st and 4th gears when the transmission warms up. That was the ticket because now I have all the forward gears as I should. This is a great deal for what the box store wanted. They charged twice as much for a product that wasn't AC Delco. I feel a lot better putting them back in my gearbox knowing they are good quality. Request.

Change solenoid valves in front of the gearbox

I designed this I think you could call it erratic shifting from first to second gear. My truck downshifted into 2nd gear and then there was a second gear like it was a delayed shift to second. I went ahead and replaced the first, second, third and fourth solenoids. I put in a new filter, new fluid and the problem seems to be gone. My old solenoids didn't look clogged, but they didn't have screens like the new ones. So far so good, the truck shifts really well

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Fixed 1-2 shift stutter and returned overdrive

I bought two of these to use the 1-2 and 3-4 shift solenoids on a 4L60e in my 1997 Blazer with 269 miles a thousand miles. install after dropping pan and old filter. Fixed my 1-2 stuttering or "dudda-dudda-dudda" when trying to switch from 1-2. The 3-4 solenoid brought my 4th gear overdrive back, so now I'm getting the mpg the Blazer was supposed to be getting. I'd recommend doing both since you've dropped a pot. It's very simple: 1) pull out the wire holder, 2) pull out the old magnet, 3)…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • No automatic transmission

Solenoids very easy to swap out

I had problems with my 2007 Silverado transmission - Vortec 5.3L 4L60E with 260,000 miles, 1st and 4th gears didn't work, only 2- worked for me and 3rd gear, The MIL light came on when I went from 3000 rpm to 60 mph in 3rd gear. The code found was P0751 Shift Solenoid A Performance Stuck and also P0894 Transmission Component Slip. I bought 2 magnets, oil filter and gasket and did the work myself ( I'm not a mechanic) drained all the oil and went in, very easy to change the solenoids, when I…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Everything is ok
