ACDelco 252 994 Professional Water Pump Review

We strongly recommend original spare parts for your car. AC Delco is the only brand I buy for my GMC and also for my Chevorlet truck. Bought another brand 3 years ago and it broke the inside of the pump housing.

I ordered this part and gave it to the mechanic to install along with replacement hoses and gaskets as it requires a lot of mechanical effort. With effort and after at least two broken tools (required to remove the old part) the new part fit and worked just like the original in the new car. With 227,000 miles on the original I hope this one lasts as long.

The only thing I could give a star for is the fact that the O-ring at the top of the coolant bypass pipe (where it enters the T-Stat housing) is a slightly larger one has diameter . . The wall thickness is thick, but the o-ring is loose enough to slip during installation. A slightly smaller o-ring of the same wall thickness provided by a local hardware store solved the problem. In and out in 4 hours, plus two more times the whole thing was taken apart to play around with a silly oversized…

The product is declared as an OEM product and I hope so. I bought this block because when buying a pre-assembled block there will be no question of pump assembly. The installation of the pump on the housing was successful. However, when it came time to reinstall the thermostat bypass tube and o-rings, that all changed. The problem was the top o-ring, I damaged the o-ring during installation and bought another "OEM" o-ring which also damaged it. Eventually I went to the GM dealership and bought…
