The kids had a great time putting it in pots and leaving it.

I used ACTIVA Scenic Sand for a sensory box with mini spatulas, mini clay pots and plastic flowers. Children like to put it in pots and let the sand run through their fingers.

The sand seems to be of good quality but for goodness sake pack it in a double pack of Activa.

The sand seems to be of good quality, but for heaven's sake, double pack it in Activa products! Like many other reviewers, the good quality sand basically ended up as a messy pile on my porch. Probably lost half along the way trying to unpack.

Poorly packaged product

The sand itself wasn't as dark as the picture but the color was normal. Too bad most of it ended up at the bottom of the box (or got lost running out of the corners). The box was too big and the sand was poorly packed with just a couple of airbags. I needed 5lbs of sand not 4lbs so I'll just look locally for another option.

Wrong color despite correct color label.

As you can see in the picture, my "jet black" sand was purple. I need this for a birthday party this weekend so no time to go back. Thankfully it will still work, but I definitely wouldn't choose purple for my son's birthday party. A bag leaked during transport and there were still a few in the box. I'm glad he didn't have anything important in the box. This is a very fine sand, but it will still work for my purposes. It's definitely not rough like play sand.
