Difficult to use with Windows 10.

This is a full-featured legacy hard drive adapter with Molex power supply and AC adapter. Adapter. If you only have SATA or 2.5" drives, you can get a cheaper product without this added feature. This device is a simple cheap piece of plastic with adapters on three sides for three types of hard drive interfaces. You can only use one type of drive at a time, although it's fun to plug in three at once and ask the IT pros for help. Older hard drives require jumper settings, so keep that in mind and

Essential for using Bare drives

Bought to use with a box of old laptop and desktop drives, both rotary and solid state drives, and it has worked flawlessly with every drive I've tried. The kit comes with everything you need to get the job done, and it worked flawlessly with Windows 10. File copying was fast enough for me, and I was even able to open movies on an attached drive and play them without copying. The adapter has met all expectations and I have not encountered any problems or problems.

Plug and Play - Requires 2.5 " drive power supply

I needed a way to read multiple hard drives without them to plug into the computer. This works great, but I was a little surprised that a 2.5" drive would need a 12V power supply to work - they usually only need USB power. This probably means that the chip in the adapter itself needs power, which unfortunately isn't suitable for travel use. Unfortunately, the data connection uses a USB-A to USB-A cable. This in itself is not a problem. but I really don't like having those cables lying around…

Required to get info from some older drives e.g. B.

I needed to restore very old info. It really works. I just plugged in my old drive and connected it to my new computer. Files, no fuss, no Fuss It's a little fiddly to maneuver but easy enough to use Foolproof connectors and just plug in whatever you want access to I won't be using this very often but when I want something it's nice to have I set all my jumpers to master so I never had a problem.
