Very excited to get my new MacBook Pro 16 - the first one I bought in 2012 - and thought I "deserved" an upgrade! However, I was disappointed when I saw the minimal number of ports on the new computer. I almost always used the SD slot when traveling to upload photos from camera cards and I had a very expensive MiniDP to HDMI cable to display my videos or watch movies on big screen TVs. It's all gone. So this handy device met all my needs! Gladly also via a microSD slot as an additional feature!

Adds great functionality to the totally goofy 'slim' new MacBook design. It doesn't seem to affect charging speeds, and I regularly plug something into each port with no issues. The only thing that confuses me is that it's a little thicker than the latest MacBooks (and probably a lot thicker than the Air), so when you plug it in it always sits slightly at an angle because it hits the tabletop first. Perfect color match with MacBook Air in Space Grey. It almost looks like it is part of the original car. It doesn't work if you have a protective case. You need to do some operations on the case to make it fit. The light on the device shows if it is connected and working. Comes in a lovely velvet drawstring pouch for easy portability. Overall this product is a solid 4/5. I think it fits the hand well and is a good weight. It doesn't look fragile at all, but it's pretty solid. I've found that in order to use the USB ports, I either have to plug them in before opening and booting the Macbook, or rebooting. For example, I often use a Corsair headset (USB connection) for music and it does NOT work until I need to plug in a hub and USB device or reboot before starting.
