great preamp. Love the remote control

excellent preamp. Like the remote control. Much better than my old preamp. The MP3 signal strength has been greatly improved resulting in better sound quality on my system. Now I am planning to purchase a suitable Adcom amplifier.

Pros
  • receiver and amplifier
Cons
  • upgradeable

Defective Product Best in Receivers and Amplifiers

I had an earlier version of this preamp for about 20 years. He recently died and I replaced him with this thing. It has two output stages (connection to an amplifier). The second stage works fine, but the volume control doesn't work in the first stage, so it's useless. There is no quality control. Keep in mind.

Audiophile high-quality preamp

This stereo preamp is completely silent, has multiple analogue inputs (RCA) and a built-in MM phono stage. There is an MP3 input jack and a 3.5mm headphone jack. on the front panel. There are also downgraded tone controls. The remote control is suitable for volume input control and switching and tone control activation, but has no mute switch (hence only 3 stars here). There's no D/A converter, but this unit compares well with others from Parasound and NAD that cost more than twice as much.

Pros
  • Home theater
Cons
  • Power socket required

For money. . . Best in Preamps

. . . You can't buy better hi-fi equipment than Adcom. I had Adcom units in the 80's then sold them to McIntosh then switched to Naim and Linn Electronics (English/Scottish) and whilst they were all good Adcom was the best value for money and my regret is the most that I ever got rid of him. . So I recently rebuilt an old/tired system and bought this preamp and an Adcoms GFA-565se (250w) to drive a pair of audiophile Epos M22 amps which are notoriously hard to drive (6ohms and only 88dpm). )…

Great value for home audio

Dedicated preamps are almost gone, only receivers and integrated amps. And most dedicated preamps are very expensive. This is excellent value for money. I bought this to replace my old Denon which was starting to have problems mainly with the left channel. The picture is better and sounds a little brighter than my Denon, although some of that could be due to the Denon's disappearance over the years. For the record, it only has ONE main amp output, not two as suggested in one negative review…
