Review on 🎡 GFP-815 Stereo Preamplifier by Adcom by Kerri Houston

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great value for home audio

Dedicated preamps are almost gone, only receivers and integrated amps. And most dedicated preamps are very expensive. This is excellent value for money. I bought this to replace my old Denon which was starting to have problems mainly with the left channel. The picture is better and sounds a little brighter than my Denon, although some of that could be due to the Denon's disappearance over the years. For the record, it only has ONE main amp output, not two as suggested in one negative review. The other is a recording output that feeds the cassette deck and does NOT pass through the volume. Another negative review suggested that its performance was too low to run the Adcom GFA555 at full capacity. I'm using two Adcom GFA555 bridged in mono and there are no drive level issues. no It's physically deeper than my old preamp and I had to remove the pad from my case to attach it. I wish it had sockets like my Denon has three. I had to get another splitter so I could hook up the whole system. In addition to two GFA555s, I have a tuner, CD player, active antenna, DAC, Bluetooth receiver, and fan assembly for each amp, so I need lots of outlets.
