Not very durable but did the job

I was able to use these sensors for the specific job I bought them for, but if you plan on using them a lot I'd look into something durable item. The banana plugs also lacked some strength, not holding securely in any of my gauges. I gave them 4 stars because for the price they are functional and have done their job and will hopefully sit in the back of my tool box for years now and never be needed again.

Pros
  • Hands-free work
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Unexpected Design - Electric

I'm used to stretching vampire lines. Instead, they screw in/out to engage the spike. This has advantages and disadvantages. Spring wire is faster but is better at penetrating tough wire (like old car wire that has become tough due to the weather). The wires can be completely unscrewed and used as long needle probes. The wires feel well built and made of good plastic, and the 22AWG wire used in the detachable wires is nice and flexible. Unfortunately, the cable ends look a bit cheap, so I'm…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Expandable

Not bad but has a serious design flaw

It really annoys me that you can't use standard DMM cables with their insulated banana plugs as the end of the plug only accepts old fashioned bare banana plugs (bare metal - risk of electric shock !). As far as I remember insulated banana forks were the industry standard. Otherwise they seem fine - the screw doesn't bind, the needle is pretty sharp and the whole thing is surprisingly flexible so it shouldn't break (at least in temperatures well above freezing - can't tell). whether the plastic

Pros
  • Quality construction

  • Requires socket
